This Rifleman Postcard from a great backyard shows off New Zealand’s smallest bird. Only six grams, the rifleman | tititipounamu belongs to an ancient family of New Zealand wrens.

Constantly on the move, these tiny birds were named after a New Zealand colonial regiment because its feathers were similar to the military uniform of a rifleman.
