Frequently Asked Questions

Can you print my photo?

Yes we can!

Send it through to us here at the a great backyard print service.

Can any photo be printed?

We find the best results come from photos with a resolution of 300dpi or higher. But if you’ve captured something awesome on your phone, don’t worry. We can put it through our specialist interpolating software to increase the pixel count, then we’ll recommend the optimum size your photo can be printed.

Do you print direct to acrylic?

No, we believe in creating products that will last lifetimes. Printing direct to acrylic is a cheaper option that fades within years. It can often look grainy and does not offer the colour resolution we strive for.

Will you ship overseas?

Yes, absolutely. We’ve sent work all over the world. Please contact us for a quote on shipping.

What’s the difference between Acrylic & ACM prints?

Wall Art on ACM is a sleek modern product where your photograph is printed on Kodak substate and mounted to sturdy ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) making it ready to hang on your wall with a stunning matte finish.

Acrylic Prints are our premium product. They have another whole layer of perspex on top.
This means they refract the light from within, creating a back-lit appearance and unrivalled vibrancy. They are also suitable for hanging in wet areas like bathrooms.

Can I get a free consult?

Yes you can. Send us a photo of your wall and your picture and we’ll create a mock-up image of your picture on your wall.

How do I hang my print on the wall?

That’s a good question! Your print comes with a wooden backer attached with picture hanging wire installed so it is ready to hang on the wall. Here’s a picture of the back of a print up close:

IS THERE ANYTHING else I need to know?

Please be aware that during the laminating process tiny motes of dust can be caught between the layers; when your print is seen from a usual viewing distance, these will be unnoticeable.

Our prints are all gallery-quality, and sometimes the printing and face-mounting process has to be re-done to achieve our standard. We just aren’t comfortable offering anything less, but do note that a spec or two seen at a normal distance is acceptable and is not grounds for redoing a print.

For vintage maps and photographs, any marks, stamps or seals that are part of the original will be preserved in the reproduction.
