This image was captured on the return trip from Mason Bay, Stewart Island. On the high tide, the water taxi can reach Fresh Water Landing to pick up weary trampers. When we’d been dropped there ten days earlier, we’d taken breakers over the bow along Paterson Inlet, and when the driver lifted our bags down, filled with camera equipment, he told us they were the heaviest he’d ever encountered.

We’d hoped to capture photographs of kiwi in the wild and had been successful, but this was the greatest image we captured on that trip; the dense lush ferns near the Freshwater Landing hut, still in the beautiful forest.

Available now from the boutique studio of New Zealand photographer Corin Walker Bain, this image has been released as a Limited Edition 200cm x 85cm print .

Limited Edition prints are signed and editioned on the back, and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity, camera capture details and the tale of the image itself.

One the edition is complete it will be permanently retired with no further prints available for sale. Prices may increase as an edition starts to run out.
