This Kiwi in Manuka Postcard from a great backyard shows a kiwi sauntering down a path on Stewart Island. This fantastic image was captured in summer, when long days mean the nocturnal kiwi are lured out to hunt in the light. Fiercely able to defend themselves as adults, it is the kiwi chicks that need protection from introduced predators.
