Colville and Moehau Map (1929)

Colville and Moehau Map (1929)
This New Zealand Survey Department map of Colville and Moehau from 1929 is a captivating piece of Coromandel history.
Produced under Chief Surveyor K.M. Graham, this land survey map charts the rugged northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula in remarkable detail — from the State Forest Reserves to the tiny settlements clinging to the coastline around Cape Colville and Port Jackson. It also includes Te Moehau, the highest peak on the Coromandel, a place of deep significance in Māori tradition, said by some to be home to a creature that has never quite been explained.
This map would look superb hanging on your office or lounge wall. The boldly colour-coded aesthetic — with its striking teal coastlines and cream land parcels — would make a timeless addition to any home.
It would make a superb gift for lovers of the Coromandel, anyone with roots in this remote and beautiful corner of Aotearoa.
This map comes in a 8 x 10 aspect and we offer two different finishing options. Please choose from the following selection to make it your own.
Acrylic Print
Perfect for any room where gallery quality is optimal, our Acrylic Prints are also ideal for bathrooms and wet areas.
Your map will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional substrate using archival inks, and then mounted in-house on crystal clear acrylic for a back-lit appearance and unrivaled vibrancy.
Finally, it will be seamed with 4mm ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) for a modern frameless finish. A custom hanger is attached before the print is securely packaged and sent to you, ready to hang on your wall.
ACM Wall Art
Our ACM Wall Art prints are sleek and non-reflective. Your photograph will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional Paper using archival inks and then mounted in-house on 4mm ACM. A custom hanger is attached before the print is securely packaged and sent to you, ready to hang on your wall.
