Map of Tararua Mountain System (1959)

from NZ$549.00

Before the Tararua Range became synonymous with long days, sideways rain, and the particular satisfaction of earning a hut night, a series of dedicated individuals sat down and mapped the whole magnificent tangle of it. This 1959 survey captures the range in extraordinary detail — every ridge, track, and river system rendered in the careful hand of mid-century New Zealand cartography.

Equally at home in a study, a tramper's lounge, or a hallway in any Wellington or Wairarapa household that knows exactly which ridge nearly broke them. The muted greens and cream tones sit well against warm timbers and natural materials.

For the person who has done the Southern Crossing, the person planning it, or anyone with deep roots in the lower North Island. It also makes a handsome gift for New Zealand history collections, tramping clubs, and DOC-adjacent households everywhere.

This map comes in a 8 x 10 aspect and we offer two different finishing options. Please choose from the following selection.

Acrylic Print

Perfect for any room where gallery quality is optimal, our Acrylic Prints are also ideal for bathrooms and wet areas.

Your map will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional substrate using archival inks, and then mounted in-house on crystal clear acrylic for a back-lit appearance and unrivaled vibrancy.

Finally, it will be seamed with 4mm ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) for a modern frameless finish. A custom hanger is attached before the print is securely packaged and sent to you, ready to hang on your wall.

Wall Art on ACM

Our ACM Wall Art prints are sleek and non-reflective. Your photograph will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional Paper using archival inks and then mounted in-house on 4mm ACM.

A custom hanger is attached before the print is securely packaged and sent to you, ready to hang on your wall.

Please note:
