Map of Marlborough Sounds — Vintage Topographical Print

A government survey map of the Marlborough Sounds at its full, gloriously complicated extent — the fractured coastline of Queen Charlotte and Pelorus Sounds spreading across the page in every direction, with D'Urville Island sitting out into Tasman Bay to the north and a detailed inset of Picton tucked into the lower right. The shaded relief of the drowned river valleys gives the map real topographic depth, the ridgelines and waterways rendered in enough detail that you could trace a familiar channel or locate a bay you once anchored in.

The comprehensive index running down the right-hand side — bays, rivers, peaks, towns, islands — is a reminder of just how many named places are packed into this one corner of the country.

This print is at home in a crib, a boat owner's study, or any room belonging to someone with a serious connection to the Sounds. Big enough and detailed enough to work as a statement piece, but the soft greens, greys, and aqua tones keep it from being visually overwhelming. Our ACM Wall Art prints are sleek and non-reflective. Your photograph will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional Paper using archival inks and then mounted in-house on 4mm ACM.

• All maps come with their original patina and stamps, adding to their character.

• Prints will be created, finished, packed and sent within 3 weeks of ordering but can often be finished much sooner.

• All prints will be sent tracked through New Zealand Post until their size limit of 1.5 metres has been reached.

• We crate our largest prints to ensure their safe arrival and use Post Haste or Kiwi Oversize for delivery.

• We can absolutely ship overseas from New Zealand, please enquire about postage.
