Hawera Map (1927)
Hawera Map (1927)
This Borough of Hawera map from 1927 captures a proud Taranaki town at the height of its confidence — streets laid out with municipal purpose, King Edward Park in pride of place, the Egmont A&P Show Ground marking its place on the western edge, and Hawera Station anchoring the town to the wider world.
Every section, reserve and public building is mapped with the careful precision of government cartography at its finest. This is a town that knew exactly what it was and where it was going.
This map would look superb in your office or lounge. Its warm cream and gold tones — borough boundaries in red, parks and reserves in green — would make a timeless addition to any Taranaki home.
It would make a wonderful gift for anyone who grew up in Hawera, has family roots in South Taranaki, or simply loves the story of how New Zealand's towns came to be.
This map comes in a 2 x 3 aspect and we offer two different finishing options. Please choose from the following selection to make it uniquely yours.

Finally, it will be seamed with 4mm ACM (Aluminium Composite Material) for a modern frameless finish. A custom hanger is attached before the print is securely packaged and sent to you, ready to hang on your wall.
