Eastern Scene, Aranui Cave Postcard
Eastern Scene, Aranui Cave Postcard
This Aranui Cave Postcard from a great backyard captures the exquisite underground view of ‘The Eastern Scene.’ Featuring an incredible display of decorated stalactites and stalagmites, this cave is widely regarded to be one of the prettiest in Waitomo Caves.
The cave was discovered in 1910 by a young man named Ruruku Aranui. It was to be named ‘Ngutuhihi’ (the beak of the stitch-bird), but on the official opening day, the Minister of Tourism couldn’t remember the correct name and suddenly pronounced it ‘Aranui!’
This image comes with two options: as a small postcard, #51 from our collection, sized 98mm x 146mm, or a large postcard, #03 from our collection, sized 121mm x 161mm. Both are the perfect size to write a note to loved ones back home while you’re on the trip of a lifetime around New Zealand.
We source high-quality card stock for our postcards so they’re easy to write on the back and the image on the front is protected. We’re proud that all of our postcards are printed in Aotearoa New Zealand using environmentally friendly materials which carry the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) accreditation, and using only vegetable inks derived from 99% vegetable sources.
