Town of Taupō — Vintage Map Print

This vintage map shows the town of Taupō in 1926, with the street grid angled against the lake terrace, the Waikato River curving along the northern edge, and the Military Reserve occupying the western flank where the river meets the town. The proposed police station, post office, and landing reserve are all marked, a sign of things to come.

The street names weave the town's identity woven through the colonial survey grid - Horomatangi, Tūwharetoa, Pāora Hapi, Heuheu. This map is at home in a lakehouse or any interior with a relaxed Central Plateau character. Being printed in a single ink on warm ochre stock gives this map a quiet, graphic elegance, clean enough to suit a contemporary space.

Our ACM Wall Art prints are sleek and non-reflective. Your photograph will be printed in our boutique print studio on Kodak Professional Paper using archival inks and then mounted in-house on 4mm ACM.

Please note:

• All maps come with their original patina and stamps, adding to their character.

• Prints will be created, finished, packed and sent within 3 weeks of ordering but can often be finished much sooner.

• All prints will be sent tracked through New Zealand Post until their size limit of 1.5 metres has been reached.

• We crate our largest prints to ensure their safe arrival and use Post Haste or Kiwi Oversize for delivery.

• We can absolutely ship overseas from New Zealand, please enquire about postage.
